Habits That Will Support You In Making Money On The Internet #2

by admin - Productivity, Success Habits

Habit #2: Get back your time and attention…

Get and stay organized. don’t be a hoarder!

The number one question you want to ask when you decide on an action: “how is this going to make money for me?

Now, pay attention: the question isn’t whether it can make money for you, it is HOW? When you ask that question then  the world does show up a little differently. Once you have an answer, let’s say you wanted to download a bunch of plr articles. You ask: how is this going to make money for me? you answer: I will put them on my blog… Question #2: When?

If you can’t answer that with any timeframe within 7 days, then cancel the action.

  • Download ebook? you won’t use it within 7 days to make money for you… cancel the action.
  • Buy software? you won’t use it within 7 days to make money for you… cancel the action.

Now, the reason you won’t do it within 7 days could be:

  • I am in the middle of a project now… valid.
  • I simply won’t have time within 7 days… valid.
  • The money won’t be sufficient to justify the action… valid.

If you answer these questions honestly, you will notice that the distraction in your life is going to be less and less. You will start to pay attention to what you are doing, instead of all the stuff that is shiny and vying for your attention.

I have many people sign up to my lists, and about 35% don’t even download the gift they originally wanted.
I have quite a few people sign up to my courses and they don’t even show up, or just enough to get their feet wet… and then disappear.

Did they disappear because they didn’t like what they bought? Or did they disappear because

  1. they didn’t have time and capacity to actually use the content within 7 days
  2. some other shiny object knocked my shiny object out of view, and they are onto the next thing.

Now, imagine yourself in this position, and tell me, honestly: is this a good use for you life? Is this a good way to spend your limited supply of time and attention?

If you said yes, I am not talking to you. But if you said no, and I hope you did, then please start using the 2-3 question process above, and you’ll increase your effectiveness in life by 40-50-60%. And you’ll be well on your way to making money on the Internet

Please comment on this topic. Nothing compares with having it all off your chest… lol

That’s a great question to ask. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve purchased a product thinking that it’s too good a deal to pass up, but without an immediate use for it. I guess that’s the nature of marketing.

The other thing I’m doing right now is trying to make more use of my existing products (or things that could be products, e.g. PLR). I’ve enough value sitting around already without having to buy information or invest time in making products from scratch for a long time.

Sophie you have me off to a ‘T’

I am like a Jaybird – I cann’t seem to resist new shinny objects – the next best thing! Whilst I am collecting these objects I am not doing what I should – that is GETTING STUCK INTO YOUR COURSE !

I love the simplicity of the Questions We have to ask ourselves before downloading anything.

That 7 DAY DEADLINE will be a big challenge for me – but I am going to try

    Thanks again Sophie

John, I think I wrote that article with YOU in mind. You can do it. Even if, from time to time, fall of the pony, you’ll still see lots of improvement if you can just ask the question. After a while it will get easier. I believe in you.
